Digital Technology is quickly reaching a tipping point in the structure of education. Robust wifi infrastructure and 1:1 student owned computers are becoming the norm. The curriculum has for years used digital tools to enhance and reinforce concepts and processes but something new is happening. The book Blended by Michael Horn highlights a number of schools and programs that have changed the structure of learning using digital resources in significant ways over the last 5 years. The term “Self-Blended Learning”, a favorite of Prof. Bernard Bull (etale.org), gives students even more power to design educational programs. Blended Learning is a growing movement of educators, parents and schools implementing new visions of the future.
